Traveling to Pakistan: A Checklist

Traveling to Pakistan: A Checklist

Preparing for a trip to Pakistan? Whether you're a returning resident or a first-time tourist, this checklist will ensure you have everything covered for a smooth landing.

1. Documentation

Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months. Most travelers now require an E-Visa or a NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis).

2. Connectivity

Download your E-Visa and booking confirmations offline. While major airports have Wi-Fi, having a local SIM card (available at the airport) is highly recommended for travel.

3. Transport Booking

Pre-book your transfer from Islamabad International Airport. Public transport can be overwhelming; having a dedicated chauffeur waiting for you is the safest and most convenient option.

4. Currency

While cards are accepted in major cities, Pakistan is still largely a cash-based society. Carry some local currency (PKR) for smaller purchases and tips.

5. Health and Safety

Carry a basic medical kit and stick to bottled water. If you're traveling during the summer, stay hydrated and wear sun protection.
